About Us
Our Philosophy pages convey the philosophy that motivates DoingDiversityWork.com, and how we work to support more quantity and quality of diversity work in all organizations. We work to achieve this mission through supporting our members with a wide array of resources commonly needed—from tools to implement, to wisdom for the care of the human side of the diversity worker/ community member. These resources come from the contributions of our membership, and our staff (professionals in diversity/ intercultural, technology, business mangement, consulting, and training.)
We have a small staff. We see our primary role NOT as consultants, but as facilitators of connections. We want to connect clients with consultants, trainers with tech tools that facilitate their work, questions with answers, needs with resources, colleagues with each other, and much more. We have built a site that can organize the vast array of resources, store them, make key connections between them, and guide members to the resources they need. We facilitate connections so every member can get more quality work done, and more easily.
We do offer consulting--but a bit differently than you might be thinking. We do not seek to secure consulting contracts for our staff consultants. Rather, online (via the site), we offer guidance to members--from novices to experts--for navigating the actual doing of diversity work, and the vast array of diversity needs and resources. We help our members determine or clarify what they need, and to find resources to fill those needs. From a member who needs to assess a leadership team's inclusiveness, to a consultant who needs clients, to an aspiring interculturalist who wants to learn more about the scope of the field, we wish to help you find your way and execute effectively.
Questions submitted to our Staff may be responded to by us, but often we will seek to tap the expertise of associates--members who are specialists and primarily practice in the specific area of the question--to offer responses. We seek to connect members with each other, rather than to us. Our staff prefers to respond to questions that concern navigating the project of diversity/intercultural work. But we each do have specific areas of expertise as well, so will sometimes respond to such questions.
